Responsibilities

Assist with the synthesis of sputtered nanogranular composites
Assist with structural, electrical, and magnetic thin film characterization
Have responsibilities that include material synthesis, data collection, data analysis, and the ability to maintain a safe laboratory working environment

Required

Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited undergraduate program
Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S

Preferred

The position would best suit a student pursuing a physics, chemistry, materials science, or similar undergraduate degree

Experience working in a laboratory setting
The ability to work independently and self-sufficiently as part of a larger team with high reliability and attention to detail
Experience with material synthesis and/or characterization especially physical vapor deposition, x-ray diffraction, and electron microscopy
