Furnace Technician

They are seeking a Furnace Technician responsible for the set-up and operation of Mag Cell used in production processes, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting furnace faults.

Responsibilities

Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors
Support and maintain department lean initiatives
Maintain department 5S requirements
Clean and Maintain Mg. Furnaces
Maintain Furnace Equipment, thermal couples and BBS probes
Monitor and troubleshoot alarms
Troubleshoot furnace faults
Furnace repairs to keep the furnaces maintained and running
Empty and replace dross bins
Fill Flux containers
Maintain furnace tools and PAPR
Compete all required paperwork

Qualification

Crane CertifiedForklift CertifiedManufacturing experienceHigh Pressure Die CastingEffective communicationTeam playerWork independently

Required

High School Graduate or equivalent
Must have a Medical Examination
Must be Crane Certified
Must be Forklift Certified
Must not have any corrective actions

Preferred

Two to Four years of Manufacturing experience a plus
High Pressure Die Casting a plus
Ability to work independently when needed
Must be a team player and work with the team, which includes mechanics, machinists, fellow operators, and management to ensure that machines are used efficiently, and work priorities are well managed
Ability to learn new specifications and procedures through on-the-job training and experience
Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms to various levels within the organization
