Responsibilities
Provide legal and underwriting guidance to attorney agents and internal teams on residential and commercial real estate matters
Research, analyze, and resolve complex title issues, including large multi-unit and multi-site projects
Make sound risk assessments to support policy issuance while managing company exposure
Respond promptly and professionally to underwriting inquiries
Evaluate insurability; advise on coverage, endorsements, and underwriting exceptions
Resolve title, survey, and real estate-related issues; review condominium documents
Draft practice notes, legal communications, and real estate articles
Lead educational seminars for attorneys, agents, and real estate or financial professionals
Monitor legal developments in Pennsylvania and New Jersey real property and title insurance law
Support agent recruitment, development, and relationship management
Participate in industry events and collaborate with leadership on compliance and strategy
Mentor Title Counsel and perform Title Counsel duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Candidates must come from the Title Insurance industry in the Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey markets to be considered
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey
5+ years of experience in real estate law and/or title insurance underwriting
Experience with both commercial and residential transactions
Prior title insurance underwriting experience in the PA and/or NJ markets required
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills; team-oriented approach
Preferred
Bankruptcy, estate settlement, or litigation experience is a plus
