Responsibilities
Configure and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols for cloud and on-premise environments
Analyze and review network packets for troubleshooting and design optimization
Design and implement firewall and NAT rules to meet security and operational requirements
Review and analyze firewall logs and flows; create observability dashboards (preferred)
Implement and manage Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS)
Add, modify, and remediate customer firewall rules; handle noncompliant rule remediation
Migrate firewall rules as part of platform or policy updates
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in network security, specializing in Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN, Prisma Access cloud, and Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)
Build, migrate, and support enterprise VPN platforms for desktop (macOS, Windows), mobile (iOS, Android), and/or SASE-based solutions
Test and deploy security solutions, including proof-of-concept initiatives
Utilize strong experience in network security engineering and enterprise VPN technologies (Palo Alto, F5 BIGIP APM)
Apply practical knowledge of IPSec tunnels, VPCs, VRF, TCP/IP, OSI model, IPv6, cloud-based network security, VPN migrations, proxies, load balancers, DNS/Route53
Employ automation and scripting using Python, Shell, Ansible, and Terraform
Maintain at least one current Palo Alto certification
