Pharmacology Specialist | Remote
Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Pharmacology Specialist with expertise in PK/PD to drive decision-making in translational and clinical pharmacology. The role involves authoring dose rationales, translating pharmacology decisions for AI training, and developing decision frameworks based on clinical data.
Responsibilities
Author high-quality (“golden”) First-in-Human (FIH) dose rationales and escalation strategies for representative drug programs
Translate real-world translational pharmacology decision-making into structured guidance suitable for AI training and evaluation
Encode senior-level decision heuristics and trade-offs underlying dose selection (safety, PK/PD, potency, MoA, speed-to-proof)
Develop clear decision rules and scoring rubrics to distinguish acceptable, unsafe, or incomplete dose rationales
Surface implicit judgment calls, including when experienced teams override model-based recommendations
Review provided nonclinical and clinical data packages (tox, PK/PD, exposure–response) to inform decision frameworks
Qualification
Required
Strong experience in translational or clinical pharmacology within major biopharma, biotech, or specialized consulting
Direct accountability for FIH starting dose, SAD/MAD design, and/or Phase 2 dose selection across multiple assets
Demonstrated governance experience, including participation in review boards, IND sign-off, or regulatory-facing dose justifications
Proven ability to balance nonclinical and clinical inputs (tox, PK, PD, potency, MoA) under uncertainty
Strong written communication skills with the ability to convert expert judgment into explicit rules and rubrics
Decision-maker mindset with hands-on ownership, not solely a modeling or analytical background
