Principal Cyber Security Engineer

Responsibilities

Work within the Security Engineering domain and as a part of the larger enterprise engineering effort, you will operate within a custom, air-gapped, Department of Defense IT network on a daily basis to perform advanced support and direct deployment of new capabilities at a sustained rate
Demonstrate your ability to create and present materials to convey concepts and ideas to a wide range of audiences
Work primarily onsite in a closed area environment with occasionally opportunity to work offsite
Demonstrate your ability to create, follow and update to system documentation, schematics and operational guides and procedures
Demonstrate your ability to interface with other teams to help define, determine and implement cyber risk posture, cyber risk mitigation and information assurance throughout the enterprise IT service portfolio on a sustained level
Up to 10% of travel may be required

Required

Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Active and existing security clearance required on day 1
Solid background in Systems Administration using Linux and Windows desktop and server operating systems (Windows 11/Server 2022/RHEL)
Proficient knowledge of Enterprise Identity Management applications and design including LDAP (e.g. Active Directory) and PKI
Experience with common VMware products (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi) and overall virtualization implementations
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification e.g. CISSP and/or Security+, with the ability to maintain

Preferred

Experience with various computing hardware and software platforms, including servers, workstations, supporting various COTS software applications
Experience maintaining Window servers and troubleshooting software applications
Experience with custom software applications
Experience with enterprise firewalls, including knowledge of firewall policies/rulesets
Experience configuring and troubleshooting SIEM tools (e.g. Splunk)
