Responsibilities

Deploy medium to large-scale EF&I projects with medium/high complexity, ensuring delivery within budget, schedule, and Ciena quality standards
Manage customer expectations, communications, escalations, and governance throughout the project lifecycle
Develop project schedules, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth execution
Drive quality across all aspects of project services, from site and network engineering through installation, testing, and readiness for service
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective deployment activities
Maintain project documentation, including schedules, financials, risks, and issues, ensuring transparency and alignment with project management plans
Coach and guide junior team members to meet project deliverables and contribute to team success

Qualification

PMP certificationTelecommunications experienceProject managementMicrosoft Office proficiencySubsea deployment experienceBusiness management skillsCommunication skillsNegotiation skillsDecision-making skills

Required

A technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 10 years of telecommunications industry operational experience and/or project implementation
Minimum of 8 years in a lead role managing medium to large-scale projects
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Preferred

PMP certification preferred (required within one year of hire)
Subsea deployment experience is a strong advantage
Business and financial management skills, particularly in project-level P&L
Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making abilities
Familiarity with Ciena's products and technologies is a plus
