Responsibilities
Design, build, maintain high-throughput, low-latency systems software
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed systems
Contribute to the evolution of our infrastructure for scalability and performance
Work independently to dig into challenging problems - while knowing when to ask for help
Collaborate with application and DevOps teams to support trading platform development
Apply a deep understanding of system usage design decisions
Qualification
Required
4-year college degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, or related discipline or equivalent work experience
4-5 years of professional experience writing system-level code in C#, C++, or a similar language
Strong knowledge of operating system abstractions (Windows or Linux)
Deep understanding of networking fundamental
Familiarity with high-throughput and distributed systems
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
Proven track record of solving problems in a fast-paced environment
A mindset for digging in and figuring things out, with a balance of independence and collaboration
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Prepared to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Exceptional prioritizing, time management, and organizational skills
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Independent initiative-taker
Work onsite at our Chicago corporate office
Preferred
Experience with kernel bypass technologies, a high plus
Background in performance tuning, allocations and GC, highly preferred
Curiosity about how software interacts with hardware at a low level
