SECURITY SPECIALIST (PERSONNEL)

Responsibilities
You will coordinate, implement, and administer overall personnel security policies and procedures relating to the continuous evaluation of all employees requiring security clearance eligibility
You will perform periodic reviews of established command positions and recommend measures to correct deficiencies
You will review problem cases for derogatory or conflicting information and make recommendations
You will develop/review program policies and procedures and provide advice and assistance to senior leaders

Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326

Must possess a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance and must obtain and maintain NSA badging for NIPR/SIPR/NSANet accounts
A Counterintelligence Polygraph is required and a non-disclosure agreement must be signed
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
This position is part of the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD) certification program
The selectee is required to obtain SFPC certification within two years of placement in the position and maintain the certification as long as they remain in the position
Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position
Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: Serving as a personnel security specialist managing, implementing, evaluating, and reviewing personnel security program effectiveness and eligibility process
At a minimum, all CES employees in the Professional Work Category require a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
