Project Manager / Estimator

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Account Managers to estimate and review service projects over $25K
For projects over $50K, submit estimates to the General Manager for additional review
Submit all estimates and relevant documentation to the Special Projects Department Manager for review
Read specifications, review drawings, and submit pre-bid questions to the attention of the architect, engineer, or client
Use company-approved software to create mechanical estimates
Enter pertinent information and create estimates using our Sales Management software, North Boundary
Ensure all estimates, drawings, pictures, submittals, and project details are organized and saved for review by the Special Projects Manager
Complete accurate take-offs and understand labor hours to complete tasks
Participate in kickoff meetings for all sold projects alongside the Special Projects Manager and Account Manager
Review completed projects to compare estimates with actual costs
Prepare necessary submittals and Operation & Maintenance Manuals
Order the necessary material, coordinate equipment required and manage all change orders
Procure any required permits
Ensure projects align with agreed-upon plans. Be flexible about changes required on site
Work with the Accounting department for invoicing of project
Communicate with clients and deliver progress reports
Adhere to budget, timeline, and quality control plans
Develop business professional relationships with clients and partners and create raving fans
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other specialists
Ensure all building codes and regulations are followed
Assist Safety to ensure all OSHA and company regulations are followed

Required

Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating mechanical projects in a Commercial or Industrial environment
Prior experience in Plumbing, Electrical, and HVAC highly preferred
2+ years of Project Management is preferred
Prior experience with estimating software preferred: Quickpen, Trimble, Softquote, SMEP
