Research Technician B
Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking a Research Technician B to join their Genomics Core. The technician will assist in research projects across various departments, perform technical procedures, and communicate with researchers about available assays.
Education
Responsibilities
Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures
Generating single cell RNA-seq libraries
DNA sequencing
Magnetic bead DNA purification
Basic operation of Agilent Fragment Analyzer
Performing Reverse Transcription and PCR
Require occasional guidance
Occasionally be responsible for ordering routine supplies
Rarely modify technical procedures
Rarely train other lab members
Rarely guide other lab members
A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required
Occasionally analyze data
Rarely interpret data
Rarely make written contributions to papers and grant proposals
Qualification
Required
B.S./B.A. in related science or equivalent skills and experience plus 0-2 years experience required
Understanding of basic molecular biology techniques
Ability to perform pipetting procedures with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability
Demonstrated ability to clearly document and communicate on tasks performed and challenges faced
Demonstrates strong attention to detail in all tasks and deliverables
Preferred
Molecular biology laboratory experience strongly preferred
