Transit Operations - Project Manager II (TAM)
NEOGOV is seeking a Transit Operations Project Manager II to assist in the planning and operations of the City’s LauderGO! mobility services. The role focuses on managing transit operations, ensuring compliance with city standards, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance transit services and secure grant funding.

Responsibilities
Develops and plans fixed-route transit service, including evaluating system performance, and making recommendations for change as needed to ensure service meets City and County goals and objectives
Tracks and analyzes performance data to evaluate transit services, and proposes schedule and route adjustments as needed to ensure high quality, efficient service that meets established metrics/goals
Develop short-term and long-term program plans to improve existing local transit network
Assist with grant tasks including preparation of reports, maps, and applications for operational and capital funding. Use federal and/or state mandated procedures to track progress and prepare status reports for awarded grants
Manage operations and maintenance contracts, as well as interlocal agreements for all transit services
Reviews all existing and proposed bus stop requests, meets with internal staff to evaluate bus stop issues, works with jurisdictions to ensure bus stops are pedestrian and bicycle accessible, as well as compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act; works with internal departments to implement
Assist with monthly and annual National Transit Database (NTD) reporting
Develop and implement program branding including printed materials, community outreach, and passenger information at bus stops
Develop scopes of work and facilitate procurement process for transit goods and services. Assists with implementation of service changes, including review and approval of schedules
Perform routine field inspections and spot checks to verify service standards are upheld by all transit providers
Coordinate with service provider(s) staff to receive and provide feedback on various scheduling and service performance issues
Reviews and approves contractor and consultant invoices. Monitors program budget and annually project the program’s operating expenses
Coordinates with other City departments, external agencies and applicants on transit projects
Participates in traffic engineering planning functions, such as field inspections to assess traffic conditions and signal operations
Performs related work as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in in transportation planning, civil engineering, architecture, construction management, or a closely related field
At least three (3) years of professional experience in transit planning, traffic engineering, engineering, construction management, and/or project implementation for a state, county, or local government planning agency or private organization directly involved in transit or transportation planning or development
Additional qualifying experience or completion of coursework at an accredited college or university in a job-related field, may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience

A flexible schedule including attendance at occasional Homeowner Associations (HOA) meetings, and other public meetings which commonly occur during the evening hours is required
Preferred
Possession of a current License as a registered Professional Engineer, or as an American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), or Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)
Previous experience working for or with government agencies
Knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local laws, rules and regulations related to transit and small vehicle water transportation
Prior years of experience working in the transit planning field with involvement in operations of a modern transit system operating principles, practices, and route development
Experience in database management and analytical analysis to track transit and traffic data, as well as performance measures
Experience with oversight of contracts and interlocal agreements
