Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing processes, equipment, and work cells
Identify opportunities to automate manual or inefficient processes to improve productivity and quality
Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning and production ramp-up
Develop process flow diagrams, equipment layouts, control concepts, and technical specifications
Collaborate with controls engineers, equipment suppliers, and integrators on system design and validation
Perform process capability studies, cycle time analysis, and ROI evaluations for automation initiatives
Troubleshoot and optimize automated equipment to ensure reliable, repeatable performance
Support new product introductions by developing manufacturable and automatable processes
Create and maintain documentation including work instructions, PFMEAs, control plans, and standard operating procedures
Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements
Train operators and maintenance personnel on new automated systems
Develop and maintain APQP documents such as PFMEA, flow charts, etc
Develop and maintain process documentation such as Set-up Instructions and Work Instructions
Lead and/or provide input for the specification, design, build and launch of new processes
Lead and/or participate in procurement, installation and runoff of new equipment
Lead and/or participate in implementing Engineering Change Requests
Analyze existing and future production capacity requirements
Incorporate needs of Production into project and process activities
Develop Preventive Maintenance and spare parts plan for equipment
Provide and maintain project timelines and budgets
Develop engineering practices and procedures to improve existing systems
Support continuous improvement activities to address safety, quality and productivity for the assigned area
Coordinate with maintenance to evaluate technician training gaps and recommended training
Conduct regular audits (Quality- LPA, Work Station, 5S, Operator, etc.)
Controls experience preferred: Safety PLC, Siemens, ABB Industrial Robot/Kassow Cobot

Required

Bachelors of Science in Engineering or Metallurgy from an accredited institution with minimum 3 yrs. experience in a manufacturing or other relevant industry experience
3D modeling and tooling design capability required
Strong management and leadership skills
Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Analytical problem solver; experience with RedX methodology or other problem solving tools

Preferred

Experience with machining process or heat treating processes preferred
Controls experience preferred: Safety PLC, Siemens, ABB Industrial Robot/Kassow Cobot
