Responsibilities

Measure and evaluate system-level performance to identify critical ink, part and subsystem interactions
Identify, validate and implement solutions to achieve system targets for startup time and mean time between incidents
Coordinate activities with technicians and other team members to complete tasks and interpret results
Perform failure analysis and identify key areas for continuous improvement in order to increase customer satisfaction
Interface with the multi-functional teams including production, sustaining engineering, field service and R&D to address on-going field performance problems
Analyze customer data, visit customer sites to investigate performance gaps and develop and implement improvement plans

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 to 5 years of professional experience, or relevant co-op/internship experience
Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and solve complex problems
Solid understanding of fundamental mechanical systems
System characterization, integration, testing, and optimization skills
Knowledge of the following technical areas or topics: transducers, instrumentation, data acquisition, reliability, statistics, testing, design of experiments and failure analysis skills
Experience with computer software tools for the engineering environment, i.e. MS Excel/Word PC applications
Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude
Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team environment and across functional boundaries
Quality conscious with an attention to detail and ability to follow through
Strong oral and written communication skills including project planning, technical presentations and direct customer communication
Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment

Preferred

Desired knowledge: Continuous inkjet knowledge, software knowledge, failure analysis knowledge, reliability engineering
