Start in 2026 SummerThe Museum of Modern Art is offering a Summer Internship Program for undergraduate and graduate students to gain practical experience in museum work. Interns will assist the Digital Department with research and project development aimed at enhancing audience engagement through technology.

Responsibilities
Assist with an ongoing project aimed at understanding the needs of various audiences and exploring how technology can be used to inform, educate, and connect people to the museum's collection
Conduct research (via surveys, interviews, and observational research) and analyze existing data to better understand one or more of the museum's audiences and identify opportunities to engage with them digitally
Brainstorm creative ideas for digital experiences centered around education, storytelling, and interactivity based on research findings
Identify one or more valuable ideas to develop, and prototype and test the idea with visitors
Qualification
Required
Minimum of two years of college completed (or equivalent) by June 2026
Portfolio of work demonstrating relevant skillsets
Essay submitted in PDF format, no longer than 650 words
Résumé/curriculum vitae in PDF format
At least one letter of recommendation in PDF format
Transcript(s) of undergraduate and/or graduate records in PDF format
Unofficial transcripts are accepted
Preferred
Knowledge of UX research methodologies (surveys, interviews, quantitative analytics)
Familiarity with design software (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
