Director of Internal controls

Responsibilities
Lead the design and oversight of control frameworks governing capital planning activities
Own enterprise-level risk assessments tied to regulatory stress testing processes
Evaluate effectiveness of governance structures and control execution
Partner with Finance, Risk, Treasury, and Regulatory Reporting teams
Identify control gaps and drive remediation strategies
Build documentation and governance structures for regulatory defensibility
Prepare executive and board-level reporting on control health and risk posture
Support regulatory submissions through governance and control validation
Establish internal standards and training related to regulatory controls
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience in capital planning controls, regulatory audit, or governance roles
Strong background in internal controls, risk frameworks, or regulatory oversight
Hands-on exposure to regulatory exams and remediation processes
Experience in large financial institutions or complex regulatory environments
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk, or related field
Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
Preferred
CPA or CIA preferred
