Responsibilities
Defining, reviewing, and approving business terms, definitions, and technical metadata within the catalog to provide semantic context
Actively certifying data assets (tables, columns, reports) to signify trustworthiness for authorized users
Reviewing and validating technical data lineage, ensuring accurate mapping from source systems to end-user reports
Supporting GDPR and other policies by classifying sensitive data and documenting its usage, ensuring it is secure and compliant
Acting as the liaison between business stakeholders and IT to resolve data quality issues and define data requirements
Leveraging EDC/CDGC features like data profiling, similarity recommendations, and search to improve data discoverability
Associating themselves or others as data owners/stewards to specific assets in the catalog UI
Receiving, reviewing, and approving change requests related to data definitions
Associating technical data with business glossary terms to enable business-friendly search and discovery
Setting up domains, implementing role-based authentication controls, and similar tasks
Qualification
Required
Informatica Data Catalog SME
Driving data governance
Ensuring metadata accuracy
Bridging the gap between technical data and business context
Curating, certifying, and maintaining data assets
Defining business terms, lineage, and data quality rules
Metadata Curation & Enrichment: Defining, reviewing, and approving business terms, definitions, and technical metadata
Data Stewardship & Certification: Actively certifying data assets (tables, columns, reports)
Lineage & Relationship Mapping: Reviewing and validating technical data lineage
Data Governance & Compliance: Supporting GDPR and other policies
Collaboration: Acting as the liaison between business stakeholders and IT
Tool Expertise: Leveraging EDC/CDGC features like data profiling, similarity recommendations, and search
Assigning Roles: Associating themselves or others as data owners/stewards
Managing Change Requests: Receiving, reviewing, and approving change requests
