In this trainee role, you will help maintain trees, landscaped areas, and public spaces while learning to operate heavy equipment and trucks, directly supporting community safety and functionality.

Responsibilities
Prune and maintain trees, palms, and landscaped areas in public rights-of-way
Assist with general landscaping tasks such as watering and repairing irrigation systems
Safely operate vehicles and equipment, including pickup trucks, tractors, chippers, and other heavy machinery
Use hand and gas-powered tools correctly and safely
Work closely with team members to meet daily maintenance and project goals
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience
Willingness to learn about landscaping, irrigation, and heavy equipment operation
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Must obtain a Florida Class “B” Commercial Learner's Permit within 6 months of hire
Must obtain a Florida Class “B” Commercial Driver's License within 1 year of hire
Preferred
Previous experience with landscaping, irrigation, or equipment operation is helpful but not required
