Mainframe Developer (VSAM, COBOL, SQL, Stock Plan)
Ampstek is seeking a Mainframe Developer with extensive experience in application development, specifically in the financial services sector. The role involves defining, developing, and leading an interactive team to implement scalable application solutions using various mainframe technologies.
Responsibilities
Experience in defining, developing, and leading an interactive team to implement scalable application solution
Mainframe application development, automation, and support, utilizing COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, MQ-Series, and SQL
Mainframe performance tuning and capacity planning, including ways to reduce I/Os, CPU Time, MSUs, and MIPs, using Strobe, iStrobe, and Platinum Detector format and comparison using File-AID; version management using Endeavor; debugging and unit testing using Intertest and Abend-AID; and job scheduling using Control-M
Knowledge of MQ is a plus
Experience in a structured SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) process; Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Production implementation
Knowledge of QA Procedures, guidelines, and controls Skills
Critical thinking, problem solving and business requirements translation
Clear and concise verbal and written communication
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in Mainframe application development, automation, and support
Experience in defining, developing, and leading an interactive team to implement scalable application solutions
Utilizing COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, MQ-Series, and SQL
Mainframe performance tuning and capacity planning, including ways to reduce I/Os, CPU Time, MSUs, and MIPs, using Strobe, iStrobe, and Platinum Detector format and comparison using File-AID
Version management using Endeavor
Debugging and unit testing using Intertest and Abend-AID
Job scheduling using Control-M
At least 7+ years of work history in application development, preferably in Financial Services or Wealth Management
Experience in a structured SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) process; Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Production implementation
Knowledge of QA Procedures, guidelines, and controls Skills
Critical thinking, problem solving and business requirements translation
Clear and concise verbal and written communication
MCA/B. Tech/Any Graduate with 11 - 16 years of relevant experience
Experience in Stock Plan is a MUST
Mandatory Skills COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL and CICS
Preferred
Knowledge of MQ is a plus
