ENGINEER INTERN
Wells is a company that specializes in precast concrete products, and they are seeking an Engineer Intern to support the inspection, testing, and evaluation of these products. This role involves gaining hands-on experience in plant operations and engineering workflows while working closely with Quality Control and Design Engineering teams.

Responsibilities
Shadow Quality Control (QC) tech at the plant
Learn to perform physical test on concrete in the lab
Get familiar with entering pre/post pour in Concrete Vision (CV), an internal production database
Check forms during pre-pour
Start to get familiar with mix designs, finishes, NCRs, and metrics
Work proficiently with mix designs and finishes
Pour samples
Enter and use NCR/metrics to work on root cause and continuous improvement
Conduct site visits when problems arise and determine root cause, then report to operations and help develop new processes and procedures
Work to develop new metrics to help with lowering NCR where needed
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required
Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Interest in precast concrete, structural design, and quality systems
Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipment
Visual acuity and ability to read small print
Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others
Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment
Mobility and ability to move around the office as needed
Intermittent field / jobsite visits will require safety precautions, which may coincide with exposure to harsh weather
Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements
Moderate to high risk of safety precautions
Moderate to high exposure to production environment
Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather-related) (plant-specific)
Ability to work outside year-round (plant-specific)
