Responsibilities

Manage trade order life-cycling across multiple asset classes
Build position management system
Integrate FIX protocol and vendor-specific APIs
Ingest market data, custody feeds, and execution reports
Evolve architecture from daily batch trading to intraday and real-time execution
Scale system to handle concurrent orders across multiple accounts

Required

8+ years building production trading systems managing live capital
Expert-level Python for business logic, data pipelines, and integrations
Production experience with exchange connectivity
Distributed systems fundamentals: event-driven architectures, message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS, RisingWave), state machines
Database expertise, PostgreSQL, time-series databases
Real-time data processing with high-volume streaming pipelines, materialized views
Financial markets domain knowledge: order types, execution venues, symbol mapping, corporate actions, reconciliation
Mission-critical systems operations: monitoring (metrics/logs/tracing), alerting
Strong technical and upward communication

Preferred

Low-latency trading systems experience
AWS infrastructure expertise: EC2, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, Kinesis, CloudWatch, VPC, IAM, infrastructure-as-code (CDK/CloudFormation)
Algorithmic execution strategies: VWAP, TWAP, implementation shortfall, liquidity-seeking, market impact modeling
Risk systems: VaR calculation, pre-trade limits, position exposure analytics
Direct experience with major custody platforms: Fidelity Institutional, Schwab Advisor Services, Pershing APIs
Alternative assets: private equity, hedge funds, structured products, cryptocurrency trading and custody
