Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end migration of existing payroll clients from legacy systems to new payroll platforms, ensuring all client data is accurately mapped, validated, and successfully converted
Configure and set up moderately complex and revenue-intensive payroll clients in accordance with established implementation procedures and service agreements
Provide technical and payroll-related support to clients during the transition period, ensuring all payroll products, applications, and integrations function as intended
Guide clients through the upgrade process using web-based collaboration tools, including providing training on system access, navigation, and basic utilization
Create, execute, and analyze data integrity and reconciliation reports to validate payroll accuracy and completeness
Research, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll, system, and data-related issues in a timely manner to minimize disruption and optimize the client experience
Assist with ENS coding, state and local tax setup, cancellations, and deletions to ensure compliance with all applicable tax agencies and payroll regulations
Maintain detailed documentation related to client configurations, issues, resolutions, and upgrade outcomes
Build and sustain strong working relationships with clients, internal partners, and cross-functional teams
Participate in departmental initiatives and process improvement efforts aimed at enhancing client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and retention
Develop working knowledge of additional Paychex products and services to support broader client migration efforts as needed
Qualification
Required
Prior payroll experience is required, including familiarity with payroll processing, payroll data elements, and payroll compliance concepts
Experience migrating or converting data from one system to another, preferably within payroll, HR, or financial platforms
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data validation, reconciliation, and reporting
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple client migrations simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
Comfortable working with modern technology platforms, web-based tools, and enterprise systems
Self-starter with the ability to learn complex systems and processes quickly
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Preferred
Experience supporting payroll system upgrades, implementations, or conversions
Familiarity with multi-state payroll, tax agency requirements, and payroll compliance processes
Prior experience in a client-facing, service-oriented, or implementation role
Background working in a regulated or high-volume transactional environment
