12+ years expPure Talent Consulting is seeking a Senior Director of Quality Assurance & Testing to lead and evolve quality engineering across a highly agile, cloud-native eCommerce platform. This role is responsible for defining and executing the enterprise-wide QA strategy, ensuring exceptional product quality, platform reliability, and customer experience at scale.

Responsibilities
Define and own the QA and test engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business and technology goals
Champion a quality-first culture across product development, operations, and release management
Establish enterprise QA standards, metrics, and governance for a large, distributed agile organization
Lead QA transformation in a highly agile / DevOps environment, embedding quality into CI/CD pipelines
Partner with engineering leadership to shift quality left and right, emphasizing automation, observability, and resilience
Enable frequent, reliable releases while maintaining platform stability and customer trust
Oversee testing strategies for a large-scale eCommerce platform, including web, mobile, APIs, integrations, and backend services
Drive modern test automation across functional, regression, performance, security, accessibility, and reliability testing
Ensure quality practices are optimized for cloud-native architectures on GCP, including microservices, containers, and distributed systems
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global QA organization (managers, leads, engineers)
Define career paths, upskilling programs, and succession planning for QA and test engineering talent
Manage vendor and partner relationships as needed
Define and track meaningful quality KPIs (defect leakage, test coverage, release health, MTTR, customer impact)
Proactively identify quality risks and lead mitigation strategies across complex programs
Leverage data and insights to drive continuous improvement and executive decision-making
Qualification
Required
12+ years of experience in quality assurance, test engineering, or software engineering, with significant leadership experience
7+ years leading large QA organizations at Director or Senior Director level
Proven experience supporting large-scale eCommerce or high-transaction digital platforms
Deep expertise in agile, DevOps, and CI/CD-driven quality practices
Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Extensive experience with test automation frameworks, performance testing, and modern QA tooling
Demonstrated ability to influence at the executive level and partner across Product, Engineering, and Operations
Preferred
Background in quality engineering or software development (not just traditional QA)
Experience implementing SRE, reliability engineering, or chaos testing practices
Familiarity with security, compliance, and data privacy testing in enterprise environments
Experience scaling QA in global, distributed teams
