Responsibilities

Manage the AP Operations for the region through recruiting, training, developing and retaining the right profiles for the Regional Front Office team as well as defining the requirements for the Global SSC teams, driving team performance, providing support when required and acting as a liaison between the AP team and other functional teams in the region where required. Support end users where the regular support process is not sufficient
Ensure the regions Source-to-Pay processes are run in line with global standards for systems and processes. Investigate local deviations and bring them in line with standard processes unless there is a valid (fiscal/legal) reason for keeping them. Contribute to defining new global standards when relevant
Drive the Continuous Improvement program for the AP process within the region, identifying opportunities, setting priorities and engage the right teams to achieve the benefits. Drive change management throughout the process
Work closely with the Tax team to ensure that tax compliance is included in the process design as well as operating in line with rules and regulations. Ensure US 1099 reporting and Canadian TA4 reporting is done in line with country regulation and deadlines
Participate in business, process and technology projects across the STP process globally, taking a leading role for the region and support other regions by sharing best practice and provide training & guidance when required
Work with the global T&E/Procurement Operations team to ensure the Travel/Card/Expense processes in the region are working well and ensure that the process controls and accounting aspects are covered. Support end users where the regular support process is not sufficient
Develop and produce metrics reports which supports control of ongoing operations, improvement areas and projects. Communicate key metrics with regional stakeholders and global STP stakeholders
Ensure the process has effective controls in systems and operational procedures to meet Solenis’ standards for internal control and a future SOX attestation. Support Financial and SOX Audits where required

Required

Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or similar
>5 years of relevant experience from AR, AP and/or Financial Accounting role, preferably including management experience
In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP, and process enabling tools
Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel including use of advanced functions such as Pivot tables, Look-ups
English – Intermediate/Advanced (B2 or higher)
Analytical skills
Communication skills; ability to communicate verbally and in writing with functions such as Finance, Procurement, Treasury, Customer Services, HR etc to resolve issues related to the team's responsibilities
Service oriented with a proactive and positive attitude
Structured and agile, able to navigate conflicting priorities and tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
Strong team player, willing to go the extra mile to ensure the team/company delivers while motivating the team to do the same
