Guest Services Coordinator - VHE

The Parks and Nature department is seeking Guest Services Coordinators to provide critical guest and office support at Blue Lake and Oxbow Regional Parks, ensuring a welcoming experience for visitors and managing reservations and customer service inquiries.

Responsibilities

Serve on the park operations team and administrative teams, working closely with other guest services coordinators at Blue Lake and Oxbow parks, as well as park rangers and park workers
Play an important role in our commitment to offering safe, friendly destinations where all visitors feel welcome
Serve as the main point of contact for the public and park visitors, providing customer service in person, on the phone and through email
Communicate with park staff via radio in a clear and concise manner
Provide emergency dispatch for the park
Coordinate shelter and camping reservations for all reservable spaces in Parks and Nature’s portfolio
Coordinate and support the check-in process and sales for reservation holders
Create and maintain spreadsheets using Excel and other database systems and track data as requested
Fulfill Metro’s values of public service, excellence, teamwork, respect, innovation and sustainability and the Parks and Nature department’s core values of integrity, respect, stewardship, seeking the best way and making connections
Work in a safe manner and follow all safety policies, practices and procedures
Work assigned schedule and exhibit regular and predictable attendance

Required

Two years of administrative and/or clerical work experience
A High school diploma or G.E.D
Any combination of education, professional, volunteer and lived experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the classification duties and responsibilities

Preferred

Experience working in a fast-paced customer service environment
Experience working in or supporting parks and/or natural areas
Ability to speak a language other than English; specifically Spanish, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin or Russian
