Responsibilities
Supervise and assist employees in maintenance and repair of roads, bridges, and landslide repairs
Provide technical assistance and oversight on highway maintenance projects and inspect work for completion
Coordinate and inspect highway contract work
Respond to and supervise snow and ice removal and other emergencies
Qualification
Required
High school graduate
Must have ten years of construction or highway maintenance experience
Must be 18 years of age
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a Class A commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement to qualify for employment in this job classification
The employee must successfully complete the KYTC Highway Technician Academy Leadership Level 1 or equivalent within one year of employment in this job classification
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification
Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials
Preferred
Experience interpreting department policies and procedures
Experience with snow and ice removal as well as other emergencies
Experience with highway maintenance and repair of roads
Experience with coordinating and inspecting highway contract work
