Project Manager - Production Transfer
Hollstadt Consulting is seeking a Project Manager – Production Transfer to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of production transfers, primarily focusing on transitions involving Tijuana, Mexico. The role involves ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements throughout the transfer lifecycle and managing cross-functional collaboration to deliver successful projects.

Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end project management of production transfers between facilities, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets
Develop comprehensive project plans, risk assessments, and timeline milestones for each transfer initiative
Coordinate tooling, equipment, documentation, and process transfers to new locations while minimizing operational disruption
Manage and execute Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) deliverables in alignment with customer and Aerospace & Defense requirements
Ensure all documentation (FMEA, Control Plans, Capability Studies, Validation Reports) is complete and submitted on time
Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Operations to verify successful qualification and approval at the receiving facility
Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams (Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance) and external customers during all phases of production transfer
Coordinate resources across sites to ensure readiness, capability, and performance expectations are met
Facilitate communication and alignment between U.S. and Mexico teams
Maintain strong communication channels with customers during transfer projects, providing updates, managing expectations, and addressing risks proactively
Support supplier transitions and engage with third‑party vendors where required
Travel regularly to the Tijuana, Mexico manufacturing site to oversee transfer activities, validate progress, and support on‑the‑ground execution
Provide hands‑on leadership during equipment installation, pilot runs, PPAP builds, customer visits, and audits
Identify opportunities to improve the production transfer process to increase speed, predictability, and quality
Capture lessons learned and integrate best practices into future transfer projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field
3–7 years of project management experience in manufacturing, operations, or production transfer environments
Demonstrated experience with PPAP or comparable regulatory/quality approval processes
Strong organization, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to travel routinely to Tijuana, Mexico
Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies
Must be able to comply with ITAR requirements; must be a U.S. Person (citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual)
Preferred
Experience with cross-border manufacturing or maquiladora operations
PMP certification or formal project management training
Bilingual in Spanish and English
