Purchasing Coordinator
Smart Start, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator who will be responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, supplies, and services. This role involves reviewing purchase requisitions, developing supplier sources, negotiating pricing, and maintaining production schedules.

Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and revise purchasing schedules; expedite materials as needed
Plan and order raw materials to support production schedules; follow up and review schedules for compliance
Monitor work‑in‑process inventories and assist with cycle counts as required
Manage material substitutions, special items, outsourced parts, and outsourced operations to ensure timely delivery
Assist in resolving delays or issues that impede schedule attainment, including locating misdirected materials
Support and coordinate implementation of engineering changes as appropriate
Maintain strong working relationships with cross‑functional teams involved in the manufacturing process
Develop and qualify new suppliers; conduct annual supplier performance reviews
Negotiate pricing, prepare RFQs, and analyze costs
Coordinate logistics for inter‑plant orders
Create and manage purchase orders
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required

Preferred
Diversified experience with knowledge of purchasing and supply chain, preferably in high‑volume manufacturing
Strong math, computer, analytical, and spreadsheet skills
1–2 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering support processes
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Reliable self‑starter with the ability to adapt and continuously develop
