Full Stack Engineer Internship

DentalScan is a fast-growing healthcare startup focused on expanding access to preventive dental care through a virtual platform. The Full Stack Engineer Internship involves working on both frontend and backend development, collaborating with machine learning engineers, and contributing to the deployment of a healthcare product.

Hospital & Health Care

Responsibilities

Build and refine patient-facing capture flows and clinical dashboards
Implement guided photo capture workflows (Left → Front → Right)
Create intuitive UI components for scan results, overlays, and reports
Ensure mobile optimization, accessibility, and compliance readiness
Design and maintain APIs for secure scan uploads, reporting, and dashboards
Manage PostgreSQL / Supabase data models (patients, scans, scan_media, scan_reports)
Handle secure upload sessions, signed URLs, and ML inference pipelines
Store and retrieve ML outputs and generate PDFs for patients and clinics
Implement authentication, encryption, audit logging, and secure data workflows
Integrate ML inference endpoints returning structured findings and confidence scores
Log model outputs and support ongoing model improvements
Work closely with ML engineers on deployment and reliability
Help plan and prioritize engineering tasks and milestones
Identify bugs, gaps, and deployment blockers and drive them to completion
Coordinate with frontend, backend, ML, and PM contributors
Communicate progress clearly and consistently

Qualification

Required

Experience with Node.js or Python backend development
Familiarity with REST APIs and backend architecture
Experience with PostgreSQL or Supabase
Understanding of authentication, authorization, and secure data handling
Exposure to cloud infrastructure and deployment workflows
Ability to commit 25–30 hours per week and attend regular syncs

Preferred

Healthcare or medical software experience
ML system integration experience
Experience with cloud automation or DevOps
Previous startup or early-stage product experience
