Responsibilities
Perform FAT and high‑voltage testing on large power transformers in accordance with IEEE and high‑voltage safety standards
Conduct control wiring & instrumentation verification using schematics, test procedures, SOPs, and equipment manuals
Troubleshoot and configure PLC‑based and electronic instrumentation
Execute low‑ and medium‑voltage electrical tests (up to 10 kV), including:
Resistance testing
Capacitance
Doble
Hipot
CT testing
Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA)
Perform transformer performance testing (loss measurements, sound level testing)
Conduct high‑voltage dielectric testing , including:
Lightning impulse
Switching surge
Applied voltage
Partial discharge
Induced overvoltage
Identify, document, and support resolution of nonconformities in materials or components
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of electrical theory, specifically high-voltage / power systems
Ability to read & interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
Experience with electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, Doble/Hipot equipment)
High attention to detail, strong documentation and troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with NFPA 70E, LOTO, fall protection, and high-voltage lab safety
Perform FAT and high-voltage testing on large power transformers in accordance with IEEE and high-voltage safety standards
Conduct control wiring & instrumentation verification using schematics, test procedures, SOPs, and equipment manuals
Troubleshoot and configure PLC-based and electronic instrumentation
Execute low- and medium-voltage electrical tests (up to 10 kV), including: Resistance testing, Capacitance, Doble, Hipot, CT testing, Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA)

Associate degree in Electrical, Power, High Voltage, or related engineering tech fields OR 2+ years of transformer FAT, field commissioning, or heavy electrical testing OR Journeyman/Master Electrician OR Bachelor's degree with 2+ years experience in testing, design, field service, or manufacturing within transformer, heavy electrical, or utility industries
Preferred
High-voltage testing on power transformers, reactors, or switchgear
FAT or field-service commissioning experience
Diagnostics or automation experience (PLC troubleshooting, LabVIEW)
Three-phase power testing experience
