Responsibilities
Assist trial attorney with stages of case management
Coordinate with outside investigators, including insurance communication and correspondence
Draft and prepare summons and complaints, bill of particulars, discovery demands and responses, motions, and opening and closing statements
Prepare and organize materials needed for court appearances, pleadings, depositions, and trial
Assist with lien negotiation and finalization and oversee updates throughout the case
Obtain necessary authorizations for medical records as well as the medical records
Help maintain client relations through strong communication and professional conduct
Provide general administrative support to the attorneys and perform additional duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2 years as a plaintiff personal injury paralegal
Associate's degree required
Experience with New York State court filing procedures and deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and case management systems
Experience organizing large document productions
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information
Preferred
Bachelor's is preferred
Paralegal certification is a plus!
Trial prep experience is a bonus!
Experience with Filevine is a plus!
