Indirect Lending Underwriter
Collins Community Credit Union is seeking a Full time Indirect Lending Underwriter to assist members with financing automobile loans. The role involves analyzing, underwriting, and approving loan applications, ensuring compliance with credit policies and regulations while maintaining dealer relationships.

Responsibilities
Evaluate borrower creditworthiness using credit reports, income documentation, debt obligations, and compensating factors
Determine appropriate loan terms including loan amount, APR, term, advance, and collateral eligibility
Approve, counteroffer, or decline applications within assigned lending authority
Ensure all loans comply with internal credit policy, underwriting guidelines, and risk tolerances
Support portfolio quality through consistent, well-documented underwriting decisions
Communicate loan decisions clearly and professionally to dealership finance personnel
Structure deals that meet borrower needs while protecting the institution’s risk position
Maintain strong working relationships with dealers by providing timely responses and consistent decisioning
Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to ECOA/Regulation B, TILA/Regulation Z, FCRA, and UDAAP standards
Ensure accurate and complete loan documentation, including credit applications, retail installment contracts, and insurance requirements
Qualification
Required
Valid work authorization for permanent employment in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship
Experience in analyzing, underwriting, and approving indirect automobile loan applications
Ability to evaluate borrower creditworthiness using credit reports, income documentation, debt obligations, and compensating factors
Knowledge of determining appropriate loan terms including loan amount, APR, term, advance, and collateral eligibility
Experience in approving, counteroffering, or declining applications within assigned lending authority
Understanding of internal credit policy, underwriting guidelines, and risk tolerances
Ability to support portfolio quality through consistent, well-documented underwriting decisions
Strong communication skills to convey loan decisions clearly and professionally to dealership finance personnel
Ability to structure deals that meet borrower needs while protecting the institution's risk position
