Research Assistant Professor
CHEManager International is seeking a Research Assistant Professor to lead laboratory projects focused on understanding protein alterations and mechanistic studies in various medical conditions. The role involves designing experiments, securing funding, mentoring students, and contributing to teaching and departmental services.

Responsibilities
Identify protein alterations that drive radiation dermatitis and atopic dermatitis and discover modulators to improve outcomes
Perform mechanistic studies in cystic fibrosis, asthma, allergic rhinitis, and COPD
Investigate gastrointestinal motility changes associated with iron deficiency, iron supplementation, and cancer or cancer-care-induced cachexia
Publish results in peer-reviewed journals, present at scientific meetings, assist with grant preparation, and independently pursue external funding
Research: Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments; analyze and interpret data; maintain rigorous, reproducible records and workflows
Innovation: Develop and implement novel electrophysiological and complementary approaches as needed to answer mechanistic questions
Funding: Lead and contribute to competitive grant applications; manage awarded grants and budgets
Mentorship: Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students and, when appropriate, postdoctoral researchers; cultivate an inclusive, productive training environment
Teaching & Service: Provide guest lectures, seminars, or laboratory instruction as needed; participate in departmental meetings, committees, and appropriate professional service activities
Qualification
Required
PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, electrophysiology, physiology, or a closely related field
Preferred
Prior experience with cell culture and tumor models in cancer research
Demonstrated success in securing external funding or contributing substantially to grant proposals
Track record of methodological innovation or development of new electrophysiological techniques
Experience mentoring trainees and managing a research team
Demonstrated expertise in physiology and motility assays (e.g., Ussing chamber, peristalsis apparatus, patch clamp)
Strong molecular biology skills for studying protein function, including DNA sequencing, cloning, RNA purification, gel electrophoresis, western blotting, PCR, ELISA, and flow cytometry (FACS)
