Low-Voltage Security & Life Safety Systems Integrator

Responsibilities
Kick off at the job site—review drawings, scope, and safety plan; organize materials and test gear
Pull and label structured cabling; install devices; complete clean terminations and labeling
Program and integrate alarm panels, access control, and IP video with the network for remote monitoring
Run acceptance tests, verify code compliance, and document results for turnover packages
Partner with clients and GCs, provide progress updates, and train users and junior techs
Wrap up with as-builts, service notes, and next-day planning
Installation, programming, maintenance, and service across low-voltage platforms listed above
Routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance aligned with safety regulations and local codes
Diagnostic work on alarm panels, sensors, and peripherals—delivering swift, durable fixes
Network integration to ensure seamless connectivity with monitoring software and remote access
Meticulous documentation of configurations, service calls, and system changes
Adherence to safety protocols, industry standards, and best practices
Coaching junior technicians and educating end users on daily operations
Keeping current on emerging technologies and industry trends
Qualification
Required
3–5 years' experience in one or more: Structured Cabling, Video Surveillance, Access Control, Nurse Call, Fire Alarm, IP/CCTV Camera Systems (manufacturer certs a plus)
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's in electronics/electrical systems preferred
Fluent with blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
Strong knowledge of low-voltage wiring, access control, and security system integration
Comfortable with network protocols and IP-based security ecosystems
Outstanding troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Clear communicator with strong customer service; effective solo and on a team
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; travel to job sites as needed
Must work well with little to no supervision and collaborate with other trades and contractors on multi-disciplinary projects
Self-starter with initiative; eager to learn new systems and tackle complex technology
Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook experience is very helpful
Demonstrates proficient writing and communication skills and a professional demeanor
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
Comfortable at heights and in varied environmental conditions
Ability to pass background check and drug screen
Preferred
Technical certification or associate's in electronics/electrical systems preferred
Potential sign on bonus for the right individual possessing relevant work experience and industry certifications such as BISCI & NICET
