Senior Building Electrical Engineer- Data Center

ADAG Group is seeking a Senior Building Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of innovative electrical systems for complex electrical building systems for large-scale data center projects. The role involves ensuring resilient, scalable, and energy-efficient electrical infrastructure while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Engineering Services

Responsibilities

Lead the building electrical design of large-scale data center buildings, focusing on medium and low-voltage distribution, standby/emergency power systems, and UPS configurations
Design and coordinate critical power systems such as UPS, generators, switchgear, and emergency/standby power
Develop electrical concepts, detailed designs, technical specifications, and construction documents
Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards by preparing, reviewing, and stamping electrical drawings to ensure full compliance with NEC/CEC, NFPA, IEEE, local building codes and local building codes
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams mechanical, structural, civil, and architectural teams to deliver fully integrated building designs
Review and stamp electrical drawings in Texas, Arizona, North Carolina or Ohio to certify its validity
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and quality oversight to junior engineers and designers
Support construction administration, including RFIs, site reviews, commissioning, and deficiency resolution
Identify opportunities for innovation, resiliency, and energy efficiency in data centre electrical systems
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting schedule, budget, and quality expectations
Emphasizes on excellence and develops strategic solutions, which exceed Adag’s quality requirements all while respecting and committing to the budget
Manage complex problems and bring impactful and practical solutions

Required

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (master's preferred)
A professional Engineer (PE) license and the ability to stamp in Texas, Arizona, North Carolina or Ohio is required. Willingness to obtain licensure in additional states
10+ years of experience in building electrical engineering, with a strong focus on mission-critical facilities or data centers projects exceeding 10MW
Strong understanding of NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and power system analysis tools
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or ETAP or SKM Power Tools
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills

Preferred

Experience supporting projects through construction and commissioning is an asset
Experience with large-scale generators and switchgear integration
Familiarity with sustainable or energy-efficient electrical system design
