Legal, Regulatory, & Enforcement Intern - LREP-2026-10i
The NJ Department of Environmental Protection is responsible for advancing enforcement initiatives and priorities. They are seeking a Legal, Regulatory, & Enforcement Intern to engage in legal research and writing focused on the Department’s enforcement agenda and Civil Rights efforts.

Responsibilities
Perform detailed legal research on current and emerging issues as they are presented to the office
Analyze and summarize case law, statutes, and other regulatory materials
Draft legal memoranda and other documents as needed
Qualification
Required
Strong legal research and writing skills
Some familiarity with LexisNexis system
Enrolled in a Juris Doctorate (JD) program at an accredited law school
Possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position
Authorized to work in the United States per the Department of Homeland Security, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
Preferred
Academic courses in environmental, administrative, or civil rights law
