Responsibilities
Develop, schedule, and deliver all aircraft maintenance training programs in accordance with FAA 14 CFR Part 121 and the Company General Maintenance Manual (GMM)
Design and administer training curricula aligned with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives
Make independent training-related decisions and provide recommendations to leadership regarding program execution and enhancements
Ensure compliance with FAA, DOT, OSHA, and DoD training requirements, including hazardous materials and industrial safety training
Conduct maintenance training to support compliance for engine run and taxi, RII, inspector authorization, airworthiness release, ETOPS, and RVSM
Participate in annual FAA Safety training and integrate applicable updates into maintenance training programs
Maintain accurate and complete training records for all Eastern and contract maintenance personnel
Issue monthly certification and training status reports, including recurrent training due dates
Establish evaluation and tracking procedures to identify recurring maintenance issues and implement targeted training solutions
Incorporate training updates based on findings from CASS, IEP, FAA, DoD, and FSDO audits or reviews
Evaluate and recommend maintenance training equipment, software, and courseware, including cost-benefit analysis for budget planning
Ensure training materials and assets meet proficiency, safety, and regulatory standards
Maintain instructional proficiency and expertise with training tools, including CBT/CMI platforms, simulators, and audiovisual resources
Support leadership initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Quality or Vice President of Maintenance & Engineering
Qualification
Required
Current Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate, held for a minimum of five (5) years
At least five (5) years of maintenance experience on large aircraft (10+ passenger seats), preferably B767 and/or B777, within a Part 121 air carrier
Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience maintaining large aircraft of similar category and class
At least three (3) years of experience in an instructional or training role
Strong working knowledge of FAA maintenance training regulations and industry standards
Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage training schedules effectively
Proficiency with online aircraft manuals, CBT systems, and intermediate-to-advanced computer applications
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Bachelor's degree or relevant technical/trade school education
Valid driver's license meeting company insurance requirements
Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, CHRC, and background screening
