Cybersecurity Engineer
Bank of Marin is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join their offices onsite in either Novato, California or Rancho Cordova, California. The role involves designing and implementing security solutions to protect the Bank’s infrastructure and data, while ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
Designing, developing, and implementing advanced security solutions to protect the Bank’s infrastructure, applications, and data
Performing complex systems analysis
Architecting enterprise-wide security controls
Developing automation framework to proactively mitigate risk
Evaluating threats
Recommending system enhancements or new applications
Ensuring compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
Leading complex security projects
Exercising independent judgement in setting technical standards
Performing threat modeling
Recommending strategic improvements
Communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Providing expert guidance and clear documentation to support security initiatives
Designing detection logic, automation workflows, and system configurations
Working independently and collaboratively across teams
Qualification
Required
Advanced understanding of cybersecurity principles, secure system design principles, and risk management framework (e.g., National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and Cybersecurity Framework 2.0)
Experience deploying and managing security tools in a regulated environment
Ability to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies such as AI-driven threat detection and cloud security services into enterprise environments
Lead complex security projects and exercise independent judgement in setting technical standards, performing threat modeling, and recommending strategic improvements
Strong understanding of privacy regulations such as Graham-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and their impact on security architecture
Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation, integration, and custom solution development
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing expert guidance and clear documentation to support security initiatives
Ability to lead complex security projects and exercise independent judgement in setting technical security standards
Strong attention to detail and ability to design detection logic, automation workflows, and system configurations
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
5 - 7 years relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university: or equivalent combination of experience and/or training
Preferred
Experience working with cloud technologies, Azure is preferred
