Senior Tax Auditor
The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) is responsible for managing the finances of the Government of the District of Columbia. They are seeking a Senior Tax Auditor to oversee the administration of the tax code related to audit of tax returns, perform technical reviews, and assess audit case appeals.

Responsibilities
Performs technical tax and substantive reviews on completed audits conducted by less experienced tax auditors as requested
May be asked to assess the validity of audit case appeals, calculate audit adjustments, and participate in hearings or court cases as a witness
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Five (5) years of progressive experience performing the related duties and responsibilities such as analyzing, compiling, and interpreting tax and/or other financial information
Conducting audits and audit investigations
Reviewing complex financial transactions and preparing reports
Applying accounting and financial analysis techniques in order to make sound decisions and reach appropriate conclusions
Preparing financial reports
Knowledge of accounting and auditing laws
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to exercise sound reasoning and judgment
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Bachelor's degree earned at an accredited US institution in accounting or related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting
