Senior LevelHeadsbase is seeking a motivated professional to lead bridge and transportation structure projects at the local, state, and federal levels. The role involves managing project objectives, including planning, scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder communication for assigned bridge and structural design projects.

Responsibilities
Manage projects in accordance with defined scope, schedule, and budget
Coordinate and guide technical resources to ensure high-quality project delivery, including development of construction plans and submittal documents
Provide structural engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from preliminary design through construction
Lead and mentor project teams through regular check-ins, feedback sessions, and project debriefs
Provide leadership and performance management, including goal setting, coaching, and one-on-one meetings
Collaborate with internal disciplines and subconsultants to develop risk-averse project scopes and fees
Develop and maintain project management plans and quality management plans
Create, monitor, and update project schedules
Identify, manage, and coordinate subconsultants
Track project progress, mitigate risks, and develop extra work order requests and task proposals
Communicate project status, updates, and issues to internal and external stakeholders
Participate in project financial status meetings
Build strong client relationships to understand expectations and deliver high-quality outcomes
Prepare progress reports and review invoices
Develop and lead project status presentations
Support marketing efforts including Go/No-Go decisions, proposal development, and interviews
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia
Extensive experience in bridge and structural design
Strong communication and presentation skills
Preferred
Experience working with VDOT and Virginia localities or agencies
Experience with multiple project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3)
Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams
