Assistant Program Director- Ratcliffe Elementary School
Henrico Education Foundation is seeking an Assistant Program Director for their Ratcliffe Elementary School. The role involves assisting in the management of a 21st Century Learning & Discovery Afterschool Program and/or Summer Program, ensuring a positive and safe environment while supporting program planning, staff training, and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities
Assist Sr. Center Director/Center Director in managing the operations of a 21st C or Learning & Discovery afterschool Program, and summer program, if determined, to include enforcing policies and procedures, Program planning, implementing the Program, and training/coaching staff
Serve in direct delivery of program
Serve as a point of contact/Learning Labs Assistant Program Director to Program staff to ensure that they successfully fulfill their job responsibilities which includes training, performance management, coaching, and task management
Assist with planning Program lessons and activities and coordinate supplies
Administer medication to students, as necessary
Assist in ensuring the adherence to all government (VDOE), local (HCPS), Henrico Education Foundation (handbook, supplement), and 21st C grant regulations, policies, guidelines, and standards for summer program and afterschool programs
Under the direction of the Sr. Center Director/Center Director, this position may:
Conduct regular Staff Meetings and/or daily huddles
Complete and issue programming surveys
Ensure attendance is regularly maintained in Eleyo
Provide list of students and headcount to Cafeteria Manager
Conduct monthly fire drills; shelter-in-place twice a year (fall and spring)
Ensure licensing binder is accurate and up to date
Prepare and participate in monitoring and licensing visits
Keep accurate files on students (allergies, medications, etc)
Perform Programmatic tasks such as parent pick up, group assembly, closing duties, etc
Develop and maintain positive relationships with Henrico County Public Schools (principal, administration, teachers), including prompt and professional communication, appropriate use of facilities and storage, and positive collaboration
Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, vendors, staff, and community
Responds to all inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
Serve as secondary onsite point of contact for vendors
Interpret, communicate, and promote the Henrico Education Foundation mission, goals, and objectives to employees and community
Collaborate with school staff to intentionally connect out of school time programs with the school day and/or other school goals and initiatives
Qualification
Required
Meet or be working towards meeting the requirements of Assistant Program Director as detailed in the Virginia Regulations for Licensed Child Day Centers which includes having at least one of the following: A graduate degree in a child-related field such as, but not limited to, elementary education, nursing, or recreation from a college or university and six months of programmatic experience
An endorsement or bachelor's degree in a child-related field such as, but not limited to, elementary education, nursing, or recreation from a college or university and one year of programmatic experience
Forty-eight semester hours or 72 quarter hours of college credit from a college or university of which 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours are in child-related subjects and one year of programmatic experience
Experience working with students
Experience working in a licensed child care facility or with grant funded educational programs
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
