Responsibilities

Develop and execute the strategic vision and direction for the Engineering Department, aligning with the resort’s overall objectives
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence while ensuring accountability
Implement, train, and enforce safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for guests and employees
Be responsible for the effective scheduling and budgeting of the Engineering Department
Manage capital reservations and expenses, P&L reviews, and expense forecasting
Oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of the resort’s infrastructure, mechanical systems, and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Lead the planning and execution of major Capital and Reserve improvement projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgets, and timelines
Establish and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities, ensuring contract compliance and effective partnerships
Manage the procurement and inventory of all tools and materials purchased and assigned to the Engineering Department
Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions
Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed
Must adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures
Must always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior
Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership

Required

High school diploma required; bachelor's or associate degree in a maintenance-related field is preferred
Must hold a valid driver's license in the state of employment
Ability to adapt to various tasks, perform effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines consistently
Must be detail-oriented with effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to create documents using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint
Proficiency in effectively using resort operations devices and software (HotSOS)
Expert ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical data, and O&M manuals
Must be able to recognize and resolve potential hazards on the property
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools, as well as other relevant tools required for the job
Ability to work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, dust masks, and within confined/restricted spaces
Ability to interpret and address guest needs through positive interactions toward resolutions
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Must be able to work weekends and holidays
Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States

Preferred

Bachelor's or associate degree in a maintenance-related field
Licenses or certifications in core trades such as refrigeration, plumbing, or electrical
OSHA safety certification
