Electrical Engineer

TLD is a company specializing in Airport Ground Support Equipment, and they are seeking a Specialist Engineer - Electrical. This role is responsible for the electrical design and system architecture development of various airport equipment, requiring effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Layout of the Electrical system architecture for new product development and prototyping
Definition of the control system architecture for new product development
Initial programming and maintenance of unit controls in vehicle controllers and onboard displays in CoDeSys development software
Maintain and update existing Structured Text code for vehicle controls
Selection and application of vehicle electrical components such as relays, switches, circuit breakers, proximity sensors, pressure sensors, shifters, lights, telematics
Creation and maintenance of electrical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and bills of materials
Creation of test plan, and first power up instructions for the new product developed
Close support of first product start up with testing team at the factory, and early production runs of equipment
Interact with product engineer, and other disciplines to ensure clean integration of work into the machine
Cost Control to Design to Cost (DTC) objectives through proper component selection and coordination with Product Manager
Other assignments as designated by immediate and/or higher supervisor/s
ISO 9001: establish standards, procedures and other documents in accordance with ISO 9001
Maintain the currency with respect to technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses; seminars, exhibits and trade shows are needed

Required

Automotive or heavy-duty vehicle background with vehicle control system experience
Automotive type wiring harness design, and layout experience
Documentation such as electrical schematic and wire harness drawings
Working knowledge of CODESYS Structured Text or similar programming language
Experience with J1939 or CANopen CAN bus a plus
Experience with high-voltage safety a plus
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations as needed to fulfill role
Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering

Preferred

Basic working knowledge of 2D CAD and schematic capture software preferred
