Project Engineer, Traffic
Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. has been providing innovative engineering and surveying solutions since 1980. They are seeking an experienced Project Engineer in their Austin, Texas office to work on traffic design and analysis, ensuring compliance and quality while collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Complete intermediate design and analysis tasks using determined software and criteria, under the direction of a Professional Engineer
Work independently to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications of assignments
Escalate unusual problems and work reviewed for application
Utilize Company QA/QC processes and procedures to review tasks and documents
Work with supervisor, project manager, mentors, and various internal personnel to complete assignments within discipline and other disciplines
Utilize formal education and practical experience in assignments
Attend internal or external training, as assigned
Assist with onboarding and entry level training of Graduate Engineer I and II
Work with internal clients daily, problem solve minor issues and escalate concerns when needed
Attend client meetings
Must be interested in traffic design and analysis such as traffic signal design, illumination design, ITS design, performing Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA), illumination analysis, signing and pavement marking design, traffic studies, speed studies, minor roadway design, traffic control plans and pedestrian/bike facility design
Desire to work in the Traffic Department with an emphasis on engineering analysis and design
Willing to learn AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is required
Willing to learn Synchro, VISTRO, VISSIM, SignCAD, HCS, and AGi32 software is required
Work toward gaining a working knowledge of the TMUTCD, HCM, HSM, ITE Trip Generation Manual, and AASHTO Green Book
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Motivation to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines
Commitment to perform responsibilities consistent with industry standards to achieve department and company goals
Interest in developing relationships with clients, partners, and local organizations to remain a trusted resource in the community
Qualification
Required
2+ years of professional experience, EIT or PE may be required
Knowledge of standard engineering and scientific techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks
Familiarity with CobbFendley's QA/QC Management System
Skills including use of industry-standard computer software for the position (i.e., software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
Ability to use spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software
