Director of Business Development

Vita Global Sciences, a division of Kelly, is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead the expansion of their Life Science business. The role involves managing territories, generating leads, creating proposals, and ensuring effective service delivery to clients in the Biotech, Pharma, and Clinical Research sectors.

Responsibilities

Identify, qualify, and pursue leads through networking, cold calling, warm calling, and follow-ups to generate job requisitions for staffing, Functional Service Provider (FSP), and professional services within the Life Science industry
Create and develop proposals and pricing models, deliver compelling presentations, negotiate and close sales, and document customer agreements (e.g., contracts, service agreements)
Partner with branch staff, recruiting partners, and in-house Subject Matter Expert (SME) teams to qualify requisitions, deliver consultants to clients, and ensure effective service delivery post-sale
Conduct business reviews with clients, document sales activities, and participate in RFI (Request for Information) and RFP (Request for Proposal) processes
Meet or exceed Gross Profit and Start goals as assigned by the manager, contributing to increased market share and profitability
Stay updated on industry trends, technology advancements, and regulations relevant to the Life Science sector
Build and maintain strong relationships with recruiting partners and internal SME teams to support client delivery and requisition qualification
Create and execute revenue-generating marketing initiatives and implement a daily action plan to drive business growth

Required

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the Staffing Industry, Contract Research Organization (CRO) space, or related fields, with a preference for Science staffing industry experience
Proven track record of initiating and maintaining long-lasting client relationships, negotiating service contracts, and managing fees in the Biotech, Pharma, or Clinical Research sectors
Experience creating successful staffing and hiring plans for Clinical, Biotech, and Pharma companies, with a deep understanding of clinical research and private sector needs
Involvement in RFI and RFP processes
Consultative selling approach with excellent negotiation and presentation skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, competitive environment
Highly energetic with the ability to execute revenue-generating marketing initiatives and daily action plans
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact positively and cooperatively with sales-focused team members
Ability to forecast your pipeline into revenue generating opportunities for organization
Ability to build connections through networking and outreach
Strong organizational skills to manage territory, client relationships, and internal collaborations effectively
