Fac Maintenance Engineer 2
The Department of Community Supervision is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Facility Maintenance Engineer 2. This role involves overseeing daily maintenance operations, coordinating engineering and maintenance tasks, and ensuring the upkeep of state-owned facilities.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Assist in coordinating the engineering, maintenance, renovation, and construction of facilities
Coordinate yearly preventative maintenance on all state owned facilities
Conduct any additional needed maintenance on all state owned facilities
Coordinate with various vendors for facility repairs
Coordinate with construction management companies during major renovations, repairs, and full build outs on state owned and leased facilities
Respond immediately to any emergency maintenance situations that may disrupt the daily operations of DCS facilities
Qualification
Required
Ability to complete any routine maintenance needed
Excellent communication, organization, team building and people skills
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Ability to write concise, logical, grammatically correct reports, documents and memos
Ability to independently prioritize and organize multiple complex projects, as well as, routine work
Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people
Ability to identify problems, gather data, analyze information, identify and evaluate alternative solutions, make final recommendations, implement solutions, and evaluate results
Adapts in a changing environment
Trusted to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; or three (3) years of experience in engineering, maintenance, renovation, and construction of facilities
Preferred
Possess and keep a valid Georgia driver's license
Working knowledge of state facilities and maintenance operation
10 years or more of State of Georgia experience; 5 of those with Field Operations; minimum 1 year in Business Operations
Working knowledge of the State of Georgia Teamwork's system, Asset module, BLIPP system, and ARI Fleet Management System
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel using Pivot Tables
Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, problem solving/decision making skills, and skill in using standard computer software applications
Must be self-directed and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, accounting, finance, political science, criminal justice, or a related field with experience in state government
