Account Director, Public Relations
AM Group is a women-owned communications agency based in Arkansas, seeking an Account Director for Public Relations. This senior role involves overseeing a portfolio of PR accounts, developing and executing strategies, and ensuring strong media relations and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of PR clients and support additional accounts as needed
Develop and execute PR strategies aligned with client goals and business objectives
Lead media relations efforts, including pitching, press strategy, relationship building, and coverage tracking
Collaborate with Managing Partners on complex client initiatives and strategic communications
Oversee day-to-day account activity, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and expectations are met
Direct the work of Account Coordinators on assigned accounts in partnership with the Project Manager
Work closely with the Project Manager and Account Coordinators to maintain efficient workflows, clear communication, and accountability across accounts
Review materials for quality, clarity, and strategic alignment before client delivery
Build strong, trusted relationships with clients rooted in responsiveness, transparency, and results
Maintain positive, impactful relationships with journalists, corporate partners and community and civic stakeholders
Identify opportunities to expand or deepen existing client relationships through additional PR, content, or partnership support
Participate in new business pitches and proposal development, including scoping PR work and contributing strategic insight
Stay current on media trends, Arkansas and regional outlets, industry publications, and public relations best practices
Bring proactive ideas to clients and internal teams, leveraging industry knowledge and media opportunities
Represent AM Group professionally with media, partners, and community stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
6–10 years of experience in public relations, preferably in an agency setting
Proven experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
Strong media relations background with demonstrated coverage wins
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable multitasking across multiple accounts and deadlines
Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead without hierarchy-heavy management structures
