Administrative Hearings & Dispute Resolution Intern - OAHDR-2026-11i
The NJ Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an Administrative Hearings & Dispute Resolution Intern to assist in the review of hearing requests and manage the backlog of open hearing requests. The intern will gain insights into the administrative hearing process and alternative dispute resolution services within the department.

Responsibilities
Review first party hearing requests and work on the backlog of open hearing requests
Work on other projects related to the first party hearing requests or ADR as time allows
Get an overview of the various programs within the Department and the types of matters for which hearings are requested
Qualification
Required
Attention to detail in reviewing hearing requests
Strong organizational and case-tracking skills
Clear written communication skills
Must be authorized to work in the United States per the Department of Homeland Security, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
Possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position
Preferred
Individuals enrolled at an accredited university/college studying Law, pre-Law, Criminal Justice, or Political Science
Strong interest in the environment and/or the legal process
Best suited for a student enrolled in law school or an undergraduate preparing to enter law school within the next two years
