Responsibilities

Responsible for the preparation of affiliation contract financial statements and reports including consolidating balance sheet. Reports on all financial activity taking place in the Medical Staff Funds and Grant accounts
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department. Handles inquiries and requests made by the hospital’s departmental administrative staff. Monitors and authorizes the use of affiliation contract and discretionary funds by reviewing expenditure requests for propriety, support, authorization, budgetary limits and completeness
Assists in the hiring, supervision, development, evaluation and termination of Finance Department staff in all sections including General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Support Services. Assists Finance Department employees with resolution of technical problems
Coordinate the provision of information to external and internal auditors
Provide financial analysis tools to monitor expenditures
Oversees MSS investments and cash requirements for current obligations for all bank accounts; including imprest account requirements

Required

Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
Three to five years in public accounting or in the Finance Department of a comparable Healthcare provider
Intermediate skills in Excel
Advanced skills in fund accounting software
Beginning skill level in Outlook and Word
Excellent written and oral communication skills, comfortable speaking in front of groups
Ability to organize work to meet deadlines
Good analytical skills and attention to detail

Preferred

Certified Public Accountant preferred
