Responsibilities

Supporting injection mold tooling throughout its full lifecycle, from concept through production
Partnering with external mold builders on design reviews, DFM, and tool construction
Troubleshooting tooling related issues including flash, short shots, cosmetic defects, wear, and dimensional variation
Driving mold modifications and continuous improvement to improve uptime, yield, and cycle time
Supporting mold qualifications and validation activities including IQ, OQ, and PQ
Developing and maintaining tooling documentation, maintenance requirements, and spare part strategies
Working closely with processing, quality, and production teams during launches and ongoing production
Supporting new product introductions and tool transfers as needed

Required

7 plus years of hands-on injection mold tooling experience
Strong understanding of mold design fundamentals, steel selection, gating, venting, cooling, and ejection
Experience working with mold builders and tool shops, domestic and or offshore
Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues on the manufacturing floor

Preferred

BS in Engineering preferred, experience considered in lieu of degree
Medical device or cleanroom manufacturing experience preferred
